“We have a report that Americans are again abusing our comrades on one part of the Ho Chi Minh trail. They even built a small camp there! Comrades, go there, clear the path and terminate the Americans!”
You have seen Canyon from the singleplayer mission: Ho Chi Minh trail. Remember? You had to move thru a narrow canyon looking for ammo caches. There was a small cache at an abandoned VC campsite; there was a much larger cache across a bridge.
In the new Red Dawn co-op mission, the US have a small base at the abandoned VC campsite. Your VC team starts at the large weapons cache and you must move thru the canyon to the abandoned campsite. As VC, you want to wipe out all thirty-seven of the US forces.
If you make it across the bridge, the trail heads to your left. The trail leads down to the narrow canyon where the US soldiers wait in ambush below the bridge. To your right, Pterodon added ladders to give you another way down to the canyon.
Red Dawn’s new canyon is ideal for close-quarter combat. The US will advance toward you, using all available cover. Being so close, you get to hear the US yell such things as “Damn commies,” or “Another VC. Over there!” They yell a few naughty things, as well. You need earplugs for this mission.
Your objective is on the high ground at the other end of the map. The US snipers will give you some trouble. Keep a close eye on the bushes, as the US like to pop out and shoot you.
